ELLSWORTH -- The Red Rock Central volleyball team's five-match win streak came to an end against Adrian/Ellsworth on Tuesday night. The Falcons got solid production from their defensive back row but ultimately dropped the Red Rock Conference matchup 25-13, 25-13, 25-8.
Amelia Ubl and Natasha Erickson led the team defensively with 15 and 12 digs, respectively. Erickson also tallied seven set assists and a pair of service aces in the loss.
Zoey Keck's three kills were a team-high.
RRC falls to 5-7 and next hosts Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda (6-15) on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
Canby 3, Dawson-Boyd 1
CANBY -- Karli Weber and Rachel Jelen each tallied 10 kills for the Canby volleyball team to snap the Lancers' nine-match skid on Tuesday night. The Lancers took each of the first two sets against Dawson-Boyd 26-24, 25-23 before dropping the third 25-22. Yet, Canby bounced back in the fourth with a 25-15 win to seal the Camden Conference victory.
Setting up the team's leading hitters, Shyanna Stoll contributed 28 assists, four service aces and nine digs in the match.
Weber and Jelen each also had a major defensive impact, finishing with four and two ace blocks, respectively. Tatum Christianson also added three ace blocks.
Claire Stratmoen, Kadyn Perkins and Emma Stotesbery led Dawson-Boyd's back row with 10 digs each. Stotesbery also contributed 25 set assists and five service aces, while Perkins and Stratmoen added another four aces each.
In the front row, Perkins swung for 10 kills and Lilly Lee added another nine.
Canby improves to 3-14 and aims to build some momentum when it goes on the road to take on Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (4-7) on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. Dawson-Boyd (4-8) competes at the same time, hosting Yellow Medicine East (3-10).
Lakeview 3, KMS 0
COTTONWOOD -- A balanced defensive effort led the Lakeview volleyball team to its second consecutive sweep on Tuesday. The Lakers hosted Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg for a Camden Conference matchup and never let up, downing the Fighting Saints 25-17, 25-23, 25-23.
Jaela Schmidt led the defensive front row with three ace blocks, followed by another pair apiece from Taylor Hinz and Laia Javens.
In the back row, Jersey Stensrud and Adison Hinz tallied eight digs each, while Nicole Schwartz and Aubrey Pederson finished with another six each.
Taylor Hinz took on the primary hitting responsibilities with 11 kills, aided by 14 set assists from Khya Gawarecki and 10 from Nicole Schwartz. Gawarecki and Schwartz also finished with three and two service aces, respectively.
Lakeview improves to 7-5 and heads to Madison to take on Lac qui Parle Valley (1-11) on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
TMB 3, Ortonville 0
TRACY -- Allison Dolan was a jack of all trades for the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton volleyball team on Tuesday, padding the box score across categories to help the Panthers pick up a 25-10, 25-12, 25-15 sweep of Ortonville in Camden Conference play.
In addition to her team-high 15 set assists, Dolan also finished the night with six digs, an ace block and five kills.
Allie Adams' eight kills were second to Melaina Ankrum's 12, and her nine digs tied Lauren Knakmuhs for second on the team to Braelynn Kirk's 10.
Ankrum also contributed nine set assists while Gretchen Lanoue logged six service aces and an ace block.
TMB improves to 10-8 on the year after claiming four of its last five matches. The Panthers look to carry that momentum into Prinsburg on Thursday, when they take on No. 7 Central Minnesota Christian (13-4) at 7:15 p.m.
No. 7 CMC 3, YME 0
GRANITE FALLS -- The Yellow Medicine East couldn't carry the momentum from its back-to-back wins into its Camden Conference matchup against No. 7 Central Minnesota Christian on Tuesday, falling in straight sets 25-17, 25-6, 25-14.
Kourtney Peterson led the Sting's back row with nine digs while Abbey Bones led the front with four kills. Charlotte Paslawki also chipped in with 10 set assists.
YME falls to 3-10 and looks to get back into the win column when it hits the road for a match against Dawson-Boyd (4-8) on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
PREP TENNIS
Pipestone 4, Marshall 3
PIPESTONE -- A strong singles showing wasn't enough to get the Marshall tennis team in the win column on Monday as the Tigers fell 4-3 against Pipestone in Big South Conference play.
The Tigers dominated singles No. 2-4. Cora Medina battled her way past Ireland Draper for a 7-5, 6-1 win. Julia Pafko also downed Emma SMidt 6-0, 6-1 and Emry Jans swept Lauren Steuck 6-0, 6-0.
Kathryn Coudron picked up a 6-4 win in the first set of her top singles match against Jasmine Boeke, but Boeke claimed the next two sets 6-4, 7-5 to complete the comeback.
Pipestone swept the day's doubles matches. Ava Weller and Harlow Ogren fell 6-4, 7-5 to Aubrey Brockberg and Sophia Baatz, Raya Goergen and Harlow Ogren fell 6-1, 6-1 to Iva Witte and Anna Austin, and Greta Bailey and Mallory Wendorff lost 6-2, 7-5 to Elle Brockberg and Malli Erickson.
Marshall falls to 1-16 on the year, 0-8 in conference, and goes on the road to face off against Luverne in its regular-season finale on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
