LAKE CITY - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team is currently tied for fifth place, shooting a 34-over-par 322, following round one of the 12-team Jewel Invite hosted by Concordia-St. Paul and played at the par-72 Jewel Golf Club.
Augustana is in first place with a score of 303 and holds a two-stroke lead over Sioux Falls. Upper Iowa and Concordia-St. Paul are tied for third place at 312, followed by SMSU and Minnesota State at 322.
SMSU's Carly Bronson is tied for ninth overall in the 74-player field following a round of 5-over 77 with one birdie and 13 pars.
Alyssa Swedzinski shot an 8-over 80 with a pair of birdies and seven pars and sits in a tie for 20th. Katelyn Storbeck is tied for 25th at 9-over 81, after making one birdie and 11 pars. Dayton Webskowski shot a 12-over 84 and is tied for 39th, while Izzie Van Beck is in 55th place following an 18-over 90.
Allie Nedved, playing as an individual, is tied for 35th, after carding nine pars on her way to an 11-over 83. Natalie Appel and Carly Hamman, both playing as individuals, closed with scores of 20-over 92 and 24-over 96, respectively.
Addi Wood from Concordia-St. Paul and Carmen Jirele from Augustana sit atop the individual leaderboard at even-par 72.
Tuesday's final round begins at 10 a.m.
