BRANDON VALLEY -- Marshall volleyball is no stranger to tough games on its schedule, and that continued Tuesday when the Tigers traveled near Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to square off with one of the top teams in the state, Brandon Valley.
The win did not come easy despite the sweep, as Marshall had to battle throughout all three sets. The Tigers came away with 27-25, 25-23 and 25-23 victories.
Julia Fahl led the Tigers at the service line, going 18-for-19 with one ace, while Madi Mernaugh went 11-for-11 with two aces. Jennifer Lee and Leah Stelter each added an ace as well.
Marshall also had a pair of players finish in double figures in kills. Bentley Krull led the way with 14 kills, while Fahl added 13.
The Tigers will have a busy end to the week, returning to action Thursday before playing again Friday and Saturday. All three matches will be played in Marshall.
