CANBY -- After winning the opening set in their home matchup against Ortonville, Canby volleyball was unable to close out another set as the visitors came away with a four-set victory.
The Lancers took the first set 25-15 before Ortonville responded with wins of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-21.
Despite the loss, Canby had plenty of strong moments while also gaining valuable experience from the matchup.
Karli Weber accounted for nearly half of the Lancers' 29 kills, finishing with 12. Tatum Christianson and Rhylin Anderson added five kills apiece.
Shyanna Stoll continued to have a strong game behind the service line, recording four of Canby's 11 aces. She also finished with 29 assists.
Christianson added four of the Lancers' eight blocks.
Canby will continue its busy week Sept. 24 with a road matchup against CMC. First serve is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
