CANBY -- Canby volleyball secured its second win of the season Tuesday, improving to 2-6 after a hard-fought five-set victory over Lac qui Parle Valley.
The Lancers came out strong at home, taking the opening two sets 25-20 and 25-14. LQPV responded by taking the next two sets, 25-11 and 25-16, to force a decisive fifth set.
Canby regained control when it mattered most, closing out the match with a 15-8 victory in the fifth set to secure the win.
Karli Weber led the Lancers at the net, finishing with a team-high 11 kills.
Canby also found success at the service line, recording eight aces as a team. Alexa Vernlund led the way with four aces.
The Lancers added seven blocks in the victory, with Tatum Christianson leading the team with three.
Canby will look to build on the win when it returns to action Sept. 17 with a road matchup against MACCRAY.
