EDGERTON -- The Lakeview volleyball team's strong defensive effort at the net led the Lakers to a 3-0 sweep over Edgerton in a Thursday non-conference matchup, 25-16, 25-15, 25-13.
The Lakers finished the day with blocks from Jaela Schmidt, Taylor Hinz, Laia Javens, Allison Isaacs and Avery Hinz. In the back row, Adison Hinz and Nikki Schwartz tallied seven and six digs, respectively.
Taylor and Avery Hinz led the Lakers' attack with 10 and seven kills, while Nikki Schwartz's 15 set assists were a team-high. Schwartz's pair of service aces were second only to Adison Hinz's three.
Lakeview improves to 3-1 with the win. Now on a three-match winning streak, the Lakers aim to keep rolling when they host Adrian/Ellsworth (1-1), Windom (5-0) and No. 5AA New London-Spicer (7-0) on Saturday. The first of the three matches on the day for Lakeview is set for 9 a.m.
