COTTONWOOD -- It took three overtimes and nearly three hours to determine a winner Thursday night, as RTR eventually came away with an 8-0 victory over Lakeview in a hard-fought defensive battle.
"That was an outstanding game played tonight," Lakeview head coach Scott Hanson said. "Both teams had opportunities the whole game but could not get it in the end zone until the third overtime."
Despite the loss, Hanson said the Lakers continued to show toughness and grit throughout the game, pointing to the team's effort and ability to work together.
Lakeview outgained RTR 237-69 but was unable to turn its offensive production into points when it mattered most.
Logan Harrick was among the Lakers who put together a strong performance, accounting for 76 passing yards and adding 44 yards on the ground.
"Logan is a great leader for us," Hanson said. "He has done exactly what we want him to do, and his teammates really rally around him and look up to him."
The Lakers will have a few days to regroup before returning to action next Friday, when they travel to Minneota. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
