By Daniel Lins 1 min read

COTTONWOOD -- A strong first set wasn't enough for the Lakeview volleyball team to escape with a win against MACCRAY on Tuesday. The Lakers claimed the first set 25-22, but they lost the next three 25-20, 25-23, 25-9 to fall in four sets in Camden Conference play.

Jersey Stensrud's 12 digs and Aubrey Pederson's 11 helped the duo shine defensively in the loss. Josie Spaude also came up with a pair of ace blocks in the front row.

Offensively, Nikki Schwartz and Khya Gawarecki each tallied 12 set assists, led by Taylor Hinz's 11 kills.

Lakeview drops to 4-5 with the loss, having lost four of its last five matches. The Lakers aim to get back into the win column when they host a Central Minnesota Christian (8-0) squad that received votes in the latest coaches poll, on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
