Lakers finish seventh at home tournament

COTTONWOOD -- Playing host to a volleyball tournament over the weekend, Lakeview volleyball finished with a 1-3 record and seventh-place finish.

The Lakers faced a challenging slate of opponents throughout the tournament, dropping close matches to Adrian-Ellsworth and Windom before falling to New London-Spicer. Lakeview closed out the weekend on a positive note, earning a victory over Edgerton.

Taylor Hinz led the Lakers offensively throughout the weekend, finishing with a team-high 32 kills.

Khya Gawarecki also had a strong weekend, leading Lakeview with 47 set assists.

The Lakers were active at the service line as well, combining for 19 aces across their four matches. Gawarecki and Nicole Schwartz each contributed six aces to lead the team.

Lakeview will look to build on its tournament experience as it returns to regular-season action.
