CANBY -- The Canby/Minneota girls cross country team dominated its home invitational on Thursday, finishing with three of the top-6 runners in the eight-team event.
The Lancers finished with 37 points, beating out Flandreau's 56 and Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg's 76. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton also finished with 201 points, and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton and Lakeview placed fifth and sixth with 111 and 113, respectively. Ortonville and Yellow Medicine East did not field team scores.
Mya Pesek was the individual runner-up with a time of 21:17.8, trailing only Lilly Lovgren at 20:59.1. Taylor Ourada's 21:52.0 and Adri Christianson's 22:02.9 were also good for fifth and sixth place in the field of 41.
Jonna and Anna Briggs rounded out the Lancers' team scores, placing 13th at 23:30.4 and 16th at 24:47.4.
Eighth grader Lainey Jackels led the charge for TMB, placing fourth at 21:39.9. Miranda Mischke also placed 10th for the Panthers at 23:11.8.
Freshman Shelby Remiger led the charge for Lakeview in eighth place at 22:50.0, and Elsie Bedow was RTR's top performer in 17th at 25:09.7.

CANBY -- A pair of top-10 finishers helped Canby/Minneota's boys cross country team to the bronze in its home invitational on Thursday, taking third out of six qualifying teams in the event.
The Lancers' 73 points trailed only Flandreau's 31 and Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg's 51. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton placed fourth with 95 points, Lakeview took fifth at 104 and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton placed sixth with 163. Ortonville and Yellow Medicine East did not field team scores.
Tate Remiger had another standout individual performance for the Lakers, placing first overall at 17:02.5 and beating out runner-up Logan Kontz of Flandreau by nearly a minute.
TallenMerritt and Kendon Knutson were Canby/Minneota's top performers, crossing the line at 18:24.1 and 18?33.5 to place sixth and seventh, respectively.
Seth Paluch also placed 18th for Canby/Minneota at 19:32.8, and Henry Vidoloff's 20:05.2 and Jaxon Ruether's 20:23.2 were good for 24th and 26th.
Tracy-Milroy-Balaton's Taylor Squires placed 11th at 18:54.9, and Yellow Medicine East's Charlie Olson took 13th at 19:10.6.
