Blackjacks fall to Hancock in straight sets

HANCOCK -- Dawson-Boyd volleyball hit the road for a matchup with Hancock, falling to the home team in a three-set sweep.

The Blackjacks fell 11-25, 13-25, 26-28.

Kate Gruwall led Dawson-Boyd with five service aces, while Kadyn Perkins added two and Emma Stotesbery had one.

Perkins also led the Blackjacks with 15 kills, while Stotesbery recorded a team-high eight digs and 18 assists.

Dawson-Boyd will return to action Sept. 21 with a road matchup against Minneota. First serve is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
