Two holes-in-one in two weeks at Marshall Golf Club

MARSHALL — A pair of local golfers had a nose for the pin at Marshall Golf Club early into the 2026 season. In less than a month, two holes-in-one were shot on the course’s 151-yard 16th hole, coming from Rick Homan on April 29 and May 10 from Scott Beukelman.

Homan’s shot received widespread support from the community. A Facebook post by the Marshall Golf Club about his shot getting 266 likes and 30 comments congratulating him on the shot.

“Your name is on the wall!!!” one comment from Tom Vanderwerf said, exclamation points included.

“Congrats Dad!” Rick’s son, Thomas Holman, wrote

Less than three weeks later, Scott Beukelman hit a shot of his own with a blade iron. In his 40 year golfing career, It was his second hole-in-one, his last being in 2005. Beukelman enjoys the leisure of golf and spending time with his grandkids most.

“All my grandkids have clubs and it’s just a good time to go out with them,” Beukelman said.

A hole in one on the Marshall Golf Club is a rare feat, having about 3-4 each year, if even. Getting two in such close time to each other is even rarer.

“Such a crazy feat to have happen,” Ben Nath, the Marshall Golf Club pro shop manager said. “It was such an awesome shot.”
