SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Autumn Deutz, Aidan Schuerman and Colton Lindquist each earned top-5 finishes for the Marshall track and field team at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays on Friday and Saturday, highlighting some strong Tiger performances at the elite event featuring 179 teams from across state lines.

Schuerman led the Tigers with a third-place finish in the boys 300 -meter hurdles, clocking in at 39.43, and also was a semifinalist in the 110-meter hurdles. The Tigers also got a fifth-place finish from Lindquist in the boys triple jump at 44-00.25, and Deutz placed fifth in the girls pole vault at 11-03.

Lakeview’s Jackson Staab was the individual runner-up in the boys shot put at 58-09. The Lakers also got a sixth-place finish from Adeline Louwagie in the girls discus at 125-02.

Canby’s relay teams got a trio of top-15 finishes. Jordyn Jostock, Karlie Wollum, Brynn Kockelman and Taylor Ourada ran the 4×100 and 4×200-meter relays, leading the Lancers to fourth place in the former at 50.74 and 11th place in the latter at 1:49.01. Jostock, Kockelman and Ourada also ran with Jada VanEngen in the 4×400 for a seventh-place finish at 4:09.70.

Marshall’s girls got a fourth-place finish in the 4×800, with Taleigha Bigler, Katelyn Leibfried, Kaitlyn Soupir and Jasmine Murphy clocking in at 9:42.09. The quartet also placed eighth in the distance medley relay at 13:08.12.

Sam Deutz placed 17th in the 1600 and 22nd in the 3200 meters for the Marshall boys.
