Webskowski takes first to lead Tiger girls at home invite

MARSHALL — Marshall senior Dayton Webskowski had an impressive performance and came out on top individually to help lead the Tigers girls golf team to a first-place team finish at their 18-hole home invitational on Tuesday.
Webskowski was the lone golfer to shoot under par in the competition, carding a 2-under 70 and made a statement with five birdies and one eagle. Three of her birdies came in the front-9 as well.
There were 11 teams competing, and Marshall took first with a team score of 343.
Dawson-Boyd, the 2024 and 2025 Class A state champions, came in second place with a 356.
Marshall’s Maddi Panka finished in seventh indivudally with a 14-over 86, with a birdie on hole 7. Isabella Gossen and Kathryn Gordon took 11th and 17th, respectively, as did Anna Thor and Emry Weller in 24th and 25th to help push the Tigers up along the way.

The Tigers had two teams competing, the second taking ninth with a 456. Ava Weller led the second group with a 107 in 29th.
For the Blackjacks, Alyssa Swedzinkski led the way and finished in third place individually. She carded a 6-over 78 with a pair of birdies, on the first and seventh holes.
Kylar Hjelmeland followed close behind with a 10-over 82 and a fifth-place finish. She also had two birdies, coming in the 13th and 15th holes. Claire Stratmoen also took 11th, carding a 19-over 91.
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton senior Teigyn Oleary also had a good outing, taking fourth place after shooting a 9-over 81 where she had a pair of birdies.
Murray County Central finished in third as a team as well with a 370, and was powered by Rachael Huso and Lizzie Daniels’ sixth and ninth-place finishes. Huso shot a 12-over 84, while Daniels carded 18-over 90.

Canby sophomore also broke into the top-10 individually, with Maddison Richter carding a 16-over 88 with a birdie on the 14th hole.
As a team, RTR took sixth, Lakeview placed seventh as did Minneota in eighth. Canby and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton were also at the invite, but didn’t have enough individuals to qualify for a full team.
Both Marshall boys and girls will next travel to the Redwood Valley invite on Thursday with a 4 p.m. start.
