LAMBERTON — The Red Rock Central golf teams hold a handful of upperclassmen experience as both teams look to make hopeful strides and growth in the 2026 season.

Both teams are a couple meets into the new season, and have been able to string together some good performances as they prepare for the nearing sections.

On the boys side, the Falcons are led by senior duo Finn Batalden and Brekken Determan, supported by a group of young talent between sophomores and freshman.

In past meets, RRC has seen different golfers stepping up. Batalden had an individual sixth-place finish at the Springfield invite on April 21 with an 8-over 44 to lead the Falcons. Sophomore Max Erickson also had a good day and followed behind in ninth place with an 11-over 47.

Sophomore Henry Stavnes took 14th in the same meet with a 51 as well.

Batalden is looking to be a key piece to the Falcons as the season progresses. He also led the team at the recent Red Rock Conference meet on April 23 in 10th place out of 47 individuals with an 86.

On the girls side, Abby Evans is the team’s lone senior, along with junior-trio of Jorga Brown, Celia Vogel and Paiger Wondercheck.

The girls team has also put together some positive performances through the start of the season, including a second-place team finish at the Springfield invite with a 214.

Brown has led the Falcons through a few meets so far. She had a runner-up finish at Springfield with an 8-over 44, only behind Springfield’s Mavri Winkelmann’s 41 for first place.

Freshman Josie Timm is another strong addition this season, and she took seventh individually at Springfield with a 58. Evans followed in 12th as did Vogel in 14th.

Notably, Brown grabbed herself a first-place finish at the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton meet on April 20 with a 5-over 41, four strokes up RTR’s Teigyn Oleary for second place. RRC placed third as a team out of four that meet as well.

At the Section 3A Tournament last season, the RRC boys didn’t have enough participants to qualify for a full team. The girls team placed third out of four competing teams, led by Brown’s ninth-place individual finish.

Starting at $3.95/week.
