MARSHALL — The entire starting lineup of the Marshall girls basketball team all received Big South Conference recognition for their performances this season, announced over the weekend.

Marshall went 27-5 overall this season and a perfect 12-0 in conference play, and just came back with a third-place finish in the Class AAA State Tournament on Saturday.

This was the Tigers’ second-straight season winning the Section 2AAA championship and earning a state trophy.

Reese Drake, Taleigha Bigler, Avery Schneekloth and Avery Fahl were all named to the Big South All-Conference team, and Danielle Nubile also earned an honorable mention.

Drake led the team averaging 19.3 points and six assists a game over the regular season, along with 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 steals all while shooting a team-best 65% from the field. She also averaged 2.3 3-pointers a game on 41% shooting.

Bigler averaged 12.4 points. 4.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists with a team-high 3.8 steals, and shot 42% from the field.

Schneekloth and Nubile worked the interior throughout the year, averaging 4.5 and 4.8 rebounds, respectively. Schneekloth also cashed in 14.9 points a night and 0.6 blocks, as did Nubile with 8.7 points and 0.9 blocks.

Fahl was a sharp-shooter from the perimeter and shot a team-best 45% from 3 with 68 makes on the year. She averaged 9.7 points and 2.5 3s a night, along with four rebounds.

Marshall will graduate Drake, Fahl, Bigler and Bryn Webb this year, but both Nubile and Schneekloth will return.
