Marshall boys’ season ends vs. St. Peter
Voigt's 16 points, 12 rebounds not enough in semifinal loss ot Saints

ST. PETER – A pair of strong scoring performances from Patrick Morman and Oliver Voigt weren’t able to extend the second-seeded Marshall boys basketball team’s season on Saturday night at Gustavus Adolphus College. Taking on No. 3 St. Peter in the Section 2AAA semifinals, the Tigers led 29-27 at halftime but ran out of steam in the second half, falling 64-54.
Morman led Marshall with 18 points on 7 of 17 shooting in the game, including four 3-pointers, while Voigt added another 16 points on 8 of 15 shooting. Voigt’s 12 total rebounds tied St. Peter’s Parker Maloney for a game-high, and his three offensive rebounds tied Morman for a game-high.
St. Peter finished the day shooting 47% from the field to Marshall’s 58%, but the Saints shot 36% from 3 compared to Marshall’s 30%.
Marshall did not make a free throw in the game, going 0 of 4 from the charity stripe. St. Peter, meanwhile, shot 8 of 13.
Marshall finishes its season at 15-12 and graduates a group of seniors that includes Morman, JR Vierstraete, Logan Eickhoff, Levi Maeyeaert, Aiden Bly and Davion Xayarath.
