MINNEAPOLIS — The Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd dance team wasn’t short on hardware when it returned from this weekend’s state dance tournament at the Target Center. The Shadows repeated as Class A Jazz champions and also built off last year’s High Kick state title with a runner-up finish this time around.

LQPV/DB has now claimed a total of eight state dance championships since 2019, including four in jazz and four in high kick.

Yellow Medicine East also returned to the state tournament this year. The Sting were finalists in both jazz and high kick, but were unable to go home with a top-3 finish. The Silhouettes have claimed a total of seven state championships, all from 2000 through 2014.
