Tiger gymnastics falls to Trojans
WORTHINGTON — The Marshall gymnastics team fell short of its first win on Tuesday night, dropping its Big South Conference dual against Worthington 140.65-116.9.
Shyann Murphy was the Tigers’ top all-around gymnast in the event, placing third at 30.425. The Tigers had a tight pack from there, with Kiera DeRuyter in fourth at 28.55, Emma Manke in fifth at 28.475 and Raya Goergen in sixth at 28.0.
Murphy was the Tigers’ top performer in the vault, placing sixth at 8.75 followed by Manke at 8.2 and DeRuyter at 8.175.
Manke’s top placement in the dual was on the beam, where she placed sixth at 7.7.
Murphy also placed sixth in the bars at 7.8 while DeRuyter and Goergen came in at 6.75 and 6.7.
Murphy, anke and Goergen took sixth, seventh and eighth on the floor at 8.0, 7.675 and 7.15.
The Tigers have some time off before they return to action, next hosting St. Peter for a dual on Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. The meet will also be Meet the Tigers night.
