Marshall picks up second-straight win over Trojans

WORTHINGTON — Jacob Allen and Brenden Price led the Marshall boys hockey team with 3 points apiece to a 7-3 Big South Conference win over Worthington Monday night, ending the team’s six-game roadtrip with back-to-back victories. The Tigers also defeated Fairmont 11-1 on Thursday.
After a scoreless first period for both teams, Marshall erupted for five goals in the second and carried its lead the rest of the way.
Allen led with two goals and an assist, as did Price with a goal and pair of assists.
Marshall outshot the Trojans 37-18 and McCoy Guenther finished the night with 15 saves.
The Tigers (4-10) will host New Ulm (7-6) today at 7 p.m. before traveling to the Eagles’ rink on Thursday.
