Lanoue’s double-double propels TMB past LQPV

TRACY — Gretchen Lanoue put together a 26-point double-double on Thursday night to lead the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton girls basketball team to a 44-39 Camden Conference win over Lac qui Parle Valley on Thursday night.

Lanoue shot 10 of 26 from the field in the win, and her 12 total and five offensive rebounds were both team-highs.

Lanoue also paced the Panthers defensively with five steals, aided by another four each from Braelynn Kirk, Lauren Knakmuhs and Melaina Ankrum.

Ankrum dished out five assists in the win while Elsie Knott grabbed eight rebounds.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (5-10) goes on the road this weekend, matchup against No. 10 Hills-Beaver Creek (12-1) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

No. 6 CMC 79, YME 41

GRANITE FALLS — Strong rebounding from Bailey Mortenson and Alana Almich wasn’t enough to get the Yellow Medicine East girls basketball team a win on Thursday night as the Sting fell 79-41 to No. 6 Central Minnesota Christian in Camden Conference play.

Almich was the Sting’s leading rebounder with nine rebounds and also knocked down three of her 11 attempts from 3-point range. Mortenson added another eight boards with four steals and 13 points to pace the Sting in scoring.

Yellow Medicine East (5-10) plays the second of three consecutive home games tonight, hosting Minneota (8-5) for a Camden Conference matchup at 6 p.m.

BLHS 73, Wabasso 34

BUFFALO LAKE — The Wabasso girls basketball team suffered a 73-34 loss to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Thursday night on the road.

Cassie Bliss led the Rabbits offensively with 12 points beyond four 3-pointers, along with five rebounds.

Kenley Guetter recorded another double-double of 10 points and a team-high 13 rebounds, along with three assists and two steals.

Ava Samyn also logged 10 rebounds.

Wabasso (6-10) returns to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. matchup against Mankato Loyola (2-10).

Canby 62, Ortonville 25

CANBY — The Canby girls basketball team got back in the win column on Thursday with a lopsided 62-25 win over Ortonville.

Stats were not available at the time of publication.

Canby (5-9) next travels to Tyler to take on the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights (9-6) in a non-conference matchup on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
