Lanoue, Ankrum combine for 41 to power Panthers past SWMC

TRACY — Gretchen Lanoue and Melaina Ankrum’s combined 41 points led the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton girls basketball team to a 61-53 win over Southwest Minnesota Christian in non-conference play on Thursday. The win marks three straight for the Panthers.

Lanoue scored a game-high 21 points on 5 of 12 shooting from the field and 11 of 14 shooting from the free-throw line. Her 14 total and four offensive rebounds were both team-highs, as were her four steals and five assists on nine turnovers.

Ankrum added another 20 points on 7 of 17 shooting. She also grabbed seven rebounds with five steals.

Alli Dolan scored 11 points for the Panthers.

TMB (8-11) will wrap up its four-game homestand when it hosts Minneota (12-6) today at 7 p.m.

Dawson-Boyd 60, Wabasso 48

DAWSON — Claire Stratmoen’s explosive scoring performance propelled the Dawson-Boyd girls basketball team to a 60-48 win over Wabasso in non-conference play on Thursday night.

Stratmoen went off for 29 points in the win, shooting 12 of 19 from the field and 10 of 13 on her 2-point attempts. Her 10 total rebounds also tied Alivia Estling for a team-high, and her six steals stood alone as a team high.

Estling also scored 15 points for the Blackjacks while Laura Schreier made a defensive impact with four steals.

Ava Samyn led Wabasso’s scorers with 16 points in the game, while Kenley Guetter and Liz Morin each added another 10. Guetter’s nine rebounds were also a team-high.

Dawson-Boyd (9-10) will next return home to host Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (17-4) at 7:15 p.m. today.

Wabasso (6-16) will hit the road to face New Ulm Cathedral tomorrow at 11:15 a.m.

RTR 64, RRC 30

LAMBERTON — The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton girls basketball team came away with a 64-30 win over Red Rock Central Thursday night.

RTR (11-8) will return home to take on Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey (10-8) today with a 7:30 p.m. tip off.

RRC (0-20) will take to the court today on the road at Adrian/Ellsworth (12-8) at 7:15 p.m.

Luverne 80, Canby 32

CANBY — The Canby girls basketball team suffered an 80-32 loss to Luverne Thursday night on the road.

Canby (8-12) has four regular season games remaining, and will next take on Yellow Medicine East (6-13) on the road today at 7:15 p.m.
