Getting to Know Anah Schmidt

Senior, Lakeview

Anah Schmidt is a senior center for the Lakeview girls basketball team. While averaging a double-double in points and rebounds nearly every game so far this season, Schmidt has helped lead the Lakers to an impressive 2025-26 campaign. Schmidt averaged 12.8 points a game on 42% shooting last season as a junior, along with 7.1 rebounds.

Q: How many years have you played basketball? 

A: [Since] Fourth grade I think, when LBA [Lakeview Basketball Association] starts. 

Q: What are your plans after high school?

A: I want to be an X-Ray technician. I want to go to Minnesota West [in Luverne]. 

Q: Who is a favorite athlete you look up to? 

A: Harper Murray [University of Nebraska volleyball player].

Q: What is your favorite school subject?

A: Probably math.  

Q: What is your pregame routine? 

A: We just listen to music in the locker room, and then after warmups, I’ll pray and just get locked in.
