Drake stuffs the stat sheet, Marshall girls rout St. Peter

ST. PETER — Reese Drake nearly logged a quadruple-double for the sixth-ranked Marshall girls basketball team on Friday night, padding all categories across the stat sheet as the Tigers picked up a 76-45 road win over St. Peter in Big South Conference play.

Drake shot 11 of 22 from the field for 22 points while also dishing out 10 assists on just one turnover. Her seven total and three offensive rebounds were both team-highs, and her eight steals tied Taleigha Bigler for a team-high.

Bigler finished as the Tigers’ second-leading scorer with 17 points on 6 of 15 shooting, including 3 of 9 shooting from 3-point range.

Avery Schneekloth and Danielle Nubile contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively, with Nubile blocking a pair of shots and Schneekloth snagging four steals.

Marshall improves to 10-2 with the win and goes on the road to take on Mankato East (2-11) today at 5 p.m.

TMB 58, YME 48

TRACY — Melaina Ankrum’s 16 points,10 rebounds, seven assists and seven steals lifted the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton girls basketball team in a 58-48 win over Yellow Medicine East Friday night.

Alli Dolan finished the night with 13 points and shot 3 of 6 from deep, while Lauren Knakmuhs grabbed another four steals for the Panthers.

The Sting had a well-balanced scoring effort with three players logging double figures. Bayli Sneller led the way with 15 points, while Bailey Mortenson followed with a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double. Charlotte Paslawski added another 10 points.

TMB played efficiently all over the court. The Panthers finished with 18 assists on its 21 made field goals and had 21 steals in the win. YME was limited to 12 steals.

The Panthers finished the night shooting 33% from the field and held the Sting to 28%.

Yellow Medicine East (4-9) will look to get back in the win column when it takes on Ortonville (0-13) on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

TMB (4-9) will travel to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (11-3) at 7 p.m. on Monday.

Cedar Mountain 68,

Wabasso 52

MORGAN –The Wabasso girls basketball team wasn’t able to stage an upset on Friday night, falling 68-52 to Cedar Mountain.

Wabasso drops to 5-9 on the season and hosts Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (2-9) on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

HBC 64, RTR 31

TYLER — The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton girls basketball team’s offense fell flat against Hills-Beaver Creek on Friday night, dropping 64-31 to the Patriots in Red Rock Conference play.

RTR falls to 8-6 on the season with the loss and hosts Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda (7-4) for its next game on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
