TMB comes from behind to defeat Vikings

TMB 74, Minneota 73
TRACY –The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton boys basketball team defeated Minneota with a come-from-behind victory after trailing 13 points at halftime, to come away with a 74-73 nailbiting win.
Griffin Zick led the Panthers with 26 points on 53% field goal shooting, and shot 6 of 11 from the perimeter. He also had a team-high five steals.
Connor Lanoue and Jackson Kruse followed with 11 and 14 points, respectively, while Eli Lightfoot led with 10 rebounds.
Minneota held a 42-29 lead at halftime.
For the Vikings, four different players finished in double figures led by Jase Sorensen’s 16 points on 50% shooting and a team-high six steals.
Easton Johnston followed with 14 points, as did Leo Hennen and Ian Myhre with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Both teams shot 42% from the field, but TMB shot more efficiently from the arc at 44% with 15 makes to Minneota’s nine makes on 31%.
Minneota (2-2) returns home to host Canby (1-4) on Monday at 7 p.m., while TMB (4-1) will hit the road to Westbrook-Walnut Grove (3-2) today for a 2:30 p.m. tipoff.
RTR 71, Canby 40
CANBY — The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton boys basketball team defeated Canby 71-40 on the road Friday night.
RTR (2-3) will next host Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (4-1) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Canby (1-4) will travel over to Minneota to take on the Vikings at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Wabasso 96, NUC 37
WABASSO — Brayden Guetter and Tavyn Larson combined for 49 points to power the Wabasso boys basketball team past New Ulm Cathedral 96-37 Friday night, continuing its undefeated start to the season.
Larson led with 25 points on 10 of 12 shooting, along with four rebounds, followed by Guetter’s 24-point, 10-rebound double-double.
Caden Frericks also logged a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Drew Kemp was the fourth Rabbit to finish in double figures with another 14 points, shooting 2 of 4 from deep.
Guetter also had a team-high six assists and two blocks to his three steals, as Jack Burns also grabbed a trio of steals.
Kemp, Frericks, and Jayden Reminger each had two steals apiece, as Wabasso finished collectively with 15 on the night.
The Rabbits were just as much present on the defensive end as they were offensively, also grabbing a total of 46 rebounds with three blocks. They made a statement early with a 61-17 halftime lead and cruised the rest of the way.
Wabasso (6-0) will hit the road to face Lester Prairie (1-3) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

LAMBERTON — With both teams entering the night looking for its first win of the season, the Red Rock Central boys basketball team came up short to Adrian/Ellsworth 66-31 Friday night.
Jordan Therkilsen led the Falcons with 12 points, as did Jake Erickson with eight rebounds.
RRC (0-5) will play its second of a six-game homestand when it hosts Yellow Medicine East (0-5) on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
