Marshall-grad Andries named DIII Academic All-District

ST. JOSEPH –Brooke Andries, a 2022 Marshall High School graduate, was named to the College Sports Communicators Division III Academic All-District team this week as a member of the Saint Benedict womens volleyball team. The selection marked Andries’ second consecutive season making the cut.

Andries tallied 182 kills with 41 total blocks in her junior season at Saint Benedict thsi year, averaging 1.78 kills per set and bringing her career total to 528 kills. Her performance culminated in her being named a co-recipient of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Elite 22 award in recognition of the student in each sport with the highest grade-point average with a high level of athletic performance.

The Bennies went 21-7 on the season with a 9-2 conference record to finish third in the conference standings. Saint Bennedict went on to win the MIAC tournament and qualified for the NCAA tournament before falling to Washington University (Mo.) in the regional quarterfinals.

Andries’ standout performance for Saint Benedict resulted in her being named to the MIAC All-Playoff team for the second consecutive season.
