MARSHALL — Looking to snap a 10-game home losing streak, the Southwest Minnesota State University football team will host Concordia University-St. Paul in Saturday’s final home game of the season on Senior Day in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchup.

The Mustangs will honor its large group of 18 seniors in a pregame ceremony on Saturday, recognizing Jake Anderson, Lincoln Benson, Logan Booth, Julius Brown, Macloud Crowton, Gideon Ervasti, Eddie Garcia, Josiah Hedensten, Jacob Honstetter, Treverran Mack, Colin Maher, Diego Maldonado, Tyler Nebelung, Roman Ordoñez, Jojo Parham, Jonathan Wamsley, Brock Ward and Maison Wright.

SMSU, whose last home win came in the final game of the 2023 season over Sioux Falls, will kickoff at 1 p.m. at Mattke Field.

The Mustangs are coming off a 48-7 fall to Minnesota State last weekend, marking seven-consecutive losses. SMSU defeated Jamestown on Sept. 13 12-7, and also recorded its highest offensive output of the season on Oct. 18 in a 55-23 loss to Northern State behind Crowton’s 453 passing yards.

Sophomore Parker Knutson also tied SMSU’s single-season record last Saturday, grabbing his eighth interception of the season. Knutson also leads Division II in interceptions, and is looking to break SMSU’s single-season record that was set by Carl Douglas in 1988.

Knutson has 13 interceptions in his career, which also tied SMSU’s career record.

This will be the 27th meeting between the Mustangs and Golden Bears, with CSP winning last year’s matchup 27-17.

Following this weekend, SMSU will next wrap up the regular season on the road at Winona State next Saturday at noon at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.

The game can be watched on the NSIC Network, with live stats on SMSUmustangs.com. Tickets are available for purchase at Mattke Field, and there will also be a radio broadcast on 105.1 FM KARL.
