SMSU set to induct 8 new members to Hall of Honor
MARSHALL — Southwest Minnesota State University is set to induct eight individuals and one team into its Hall of Honor on Saturday, Jan. 24, with a banquet set to honor the inductees at the SMSU Upper Level Conference Center at 10:30 a.m. and an induction ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m.
The induction class includes five players in Sara Graf for her time with the volleyball team from 2006 to 2009, Paul Litwicki of the football team from 2003 to 2005, Amanda Tucci from the SMSU softball team from 2006 to 2009, Ryan Morse for his time with the baseball team from 2003 to 2005 and swim and dive’s Denny Dayhoff, who competed from 1971 to 1975.
Former head mens basketball coach Tim Miles will also be inducted as an individual for his time with the team from 1997 through 2001, while long-time community members Dave and Diane Taylor will also be honored.
The 1972-73 SMSU swim and dive team will also be honored as a group.
The Hall of Honor inductees were chosen by an 11-member committee out of a group of nominations. This year’s selections bring the Athletics Hall of Honor up to 129 individuals and couples, and 17 teams.
