Marshall swim and dive routs Montevideo, 120-65

MARSHALL –Autumn Deutz set a new six-dive record for the Marshall swim and dive team on Tuesday, besting her mark that she set earlier this season to headline Marshall’s 120-65 win over Montevideo at the Don Palm Natatorium.
Deutz clocked a score of 195.40 in Tuesday’s event, besting her previous school record of 195.10. The score gave her a runner-up finish in the event, as Montevideo’s Elizabeth O’Malley won with a score of 237.70.
Deutz also led a sweep of the 50-yard freestyle for Marshall. She took first place as an individual with a time of 26.85, followed by teammates Grace Rokeh and Emery Podratz at 27.48 and 28.78.
Finley Pelz earned two individual first-place finishes and contributed to two first-place relay teams for Marshall.
As an individual, Pelz won the 100-yard butterfly at 1:05.12, followed by teammate Leah Hybbert at 1:11.57. Pelz also led a sweep of the 500-yard freestyle with a winning time of 5:35.26, while Hailey Larsen was the event runner-up at 5:55.09 and Amber Castor took the bronze at 6:25.59.
In terms of relays, Pelz anchored the girls 200-yard freestyle relay. Along with Deutz, Hybbert and Grace Rokeh, Marshall won the event in 1:49.83.
Pelz also swam the butterfly leg of the 200-yard medley relay, with Tatum Lewis, Aaliyah Podratz and Deutz also earning the team a winning time of 2:03.98.
The Tigers also picked up a relay win in the 400-yard freestyle. Emery Podratz, Larsen, Rokeh and Aaliyah Podratz won the event at 4:11.17 while Marshall’s second team of Mauren Brusven, Alayna Gruhot, Amber Castor and Joleigh Kesteloot placed second at 4:34.20.
Larsen won the 200-yard freestyle at 2:11.43, with Brusven also placing third at 2:24.70, while Rokeh won the 100-yard freestyle at 1:00.05 with Aaliyah Podratz earning the bronze at 1:00.97.
Alex Brown and Podratz also took second and third in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:16.32 and 1:17.98, respectively, while Lewis and Hybbert took second and third in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:07.60 and 1:10.19.
Brown and Lewis took second and third in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:35.76 and 2:40.33.
Marshall next competes on Tuesday when it hosts St. Peter at 7 p.m.
