Avery Fahl is a senior setter and middle blocker for the Marshall volleyball team. A key contributor on Marshall’s last two state championship runs, Fahl transitioned from a full-time middle blocker as a freshman and sophomore to splitting setting duties for the team. The 2024 All-State honoree earned her 1,000th career set assist on Wednesday, helping Marshall advance in the 2AAA tournament.
Q: Do you have any hobbies or
activities outside of volleyball that you really enjoy?
A: Outside of volleyball, I play more volleyball, club volleyball, basketball and then hanging out with my friends in my free time.
Q: What’s your favorite sports-
related memory?
A: Winning the state tournament was really, really fun, but also our first game against Willmar when I got to set to my sister [Julia] was a really good memory.
Q: When did you first start playing
volleyball?
A: I don’t even know. Young, really young, at SMSU camps.
