Cottonwood 3,
Madison 2 (12 inn.)
COTTONWOOD — A Jordan Fischer single line-drive RBI to left field in the bottom of the 12th inning scored Cain Herigon from third base, and gave Cottonwood a 3-2 walk-off victory over the Madison Mallards on Saturday.
The Cardinals and Mallards were tied 1-1 for seven innings before Madison scored the potential winning run in the top of the 12th inning with a Wyatt Halvorson homer run on a fly ball over center field for the 2-1 edge.
Yet, Cottonwood’s Herigon doubled on a line drive to right field to get on base and advanced to third off a Taiven Isaackson sacrifice bunt.
With Fischer up to the plate, he watched the first pitch come through for a ball before the game-winning hit to bring home Herigon and end the game.
