YME tennis falls short vs. Milbank
MILBANK, S.D. — Despite a win in the top singles matchup, the Yellow Medicine East boys tennis team wasn’t able to pick up a win over Milbank on Tuesday. The Sting dropped each of the dual’s other seven matches, losing 8-1.
Ryan Syring earnd the lone YME win, picking up a 10-5 victory over Charks Whitesitt.
Milbank dominated the rest of the match, however. Greg Grabow took down Karter Canatsey 10-8, Will Muellenbach defeated Liam Hadfield10-1, Alex Baugh beat Talmage Hadfield 10-3, Devon Mueller defeated Evan Christianson 10-3 and James Nelson took down Adrian Leske 10-5.
The Sting didn’t fare any better in doubles matches. Syring and Canatsey fell 10-2 to Whitesitt and Muellenbach, the Hadfields lost 10-3 to Grabow and Baugh, Christianson and Leske lost 10-4 to Mueller and Landen Appl, and Cyril Chase-Pendleton and Hlaing Aung lost 10-2 to Nolan Grabow and Appl.
YME falls to 2-7 on the year and next competes at on the section tournament on Tuesday at the home site of the high seed.
