Boe, Lakers sweep Camden South meet

LYND — The Lakeview boys and girls golf team each picked up a win, along with first place individual finish for Carson Boe, at a Camden South meet Tuesday afternoon at the Savannah Oaks Golf Course in Lynd.

The boys team finished with the day’s lowest score of 157 to finish first, 17 strokes ahead of Minneota’s 174 runners-up finish. Canby placed third with a 175, Yellow Medicine East took fourth with 181 and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton finished in sixth with a 189.

For the girls side, Lakeview was the only team qualified to field a team score, finishing with a 217.

Individually, Canby’s Maddison Richter carded the lowest score of the day for a first-place finish of 9-over 45.

Taylor Munson from TMB followed closely behind for second with a 48, while Lakeview’s Lauren Boe took third with a 50. YME’s Abbey Bones and Minneota’s Ava Panka tied for fourth place, each shooting a 16-over 52.

On the boys side individually, Boe carded a 1-under 35 with birdies on holes two and five.

TMB’s Alex Munson followed behind by one stroke, taking second place with a 36.

Lakeview’s Lane Arenda carded a 1-over 37 for third place, while Canby’s Jack Abrahamson finished fourth with a 2-over 38. Ledgen Javens for Lakeview also tied for fifth place with Minneota’s Owen Dalager and Renville County West’s Ryan Schrupp with a 3-over 39.

The Camden Conference South boys and girls teams will meet again on Thursday at the Tracy Country Club, starting at 4:15 p.m.

Red Rock Conference girls

SLAYTON — The Murray County Central girls golf team won its home Red Rock Conference meet in a landslide on Tuesday, beating out the next closest team by 41 strokes.

MCC finished with a team score of 371, beating out Mountain Lake Area’s 412 and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton’s 413. Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, Red Rock Central, Southwest Minnesota Christian/Edgerton and Hills-Beaver Creek did not field team scores.

RRC’s Jorga Brown was the top individual hitting a pair of birdies and six pars to finish with an 11-under 83, the day’s lowest round by seven strokes. Yet, MCC snagged each of the next tyhree spots on the leaderboard and four of the next six to still secure the win.

Ava Johnson and Lizzie Daniels opened the wave of purple and black on the leaderboard by tying for second with 90 strokes each, including four pars for each as well. Rachael Huso also placed fourth with 92 strokes while Natalie Einck rounded out the Rebel scorers in a tie for seventh with 99 strokes.

Teigyn O’Leary placed sixth for RTR with a 97 in the tournament while Brianna Pattison placed 10th with a 102.

Ava Herding posted the low round for HLOF/WWG with a 99 to tie for seventh.

The next Red Rock Conference girls meet is scheduled to be played at Town & Country Golf Club in Fulda on Thursday at 2 p.m.

Red Rock Conference boys

WESTBROOK — The Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove boys golf team finished as the meet runner-up at the Red Rock Conference No. 3 meet at Rolling Hills Golf Club on Tuesday. The Coyotes tallied a team score of 324 in the 18-hole event, trailing only Mountain Lake Area’s 310 and placing one spot ahead of Southwest Minnesota Christian/Edgerton’s 332.

Red Rock Central also placed fifth in the event at 360, beating out MCC by one stroke, while Russell-Tyler-Ruthton placed seventh out of eight teams at 381.

Brady Madison led HLOF/WWG, tying Mountain Lake’s Maxton Fast for third place with a 6-over 78. Madison’s round included a hole 5 birdie and a stretch of five consecutive pars on the back nine.

Masson Ommen and Neil Kuehl tied for seventh place for HLOF/WWG with 81 strokes each while Dominic Lee rounded out the team score in 13th out of 45 players with 84 strokes.

Keagan Steen and Kaden Landsman posted the low rounds for RRC and MCC, respectively, tying for ninth with Hills-Beaver Creek’s Cameron Allen at 82.

Colten Thomsen had RTR’s top performance, tying MCC’s Jett Veldhuisen and HBC’s Maddox Metzger for 17th with 87 strokes.

The next Red Rock Conference boys meet is scheduled to be played at Farmers Golf & Health Club in Sanborn on Thursday at 2 p.m.
