Tiger gymnastics falls short vs. Saints

MARSHALL — The Marshall varsity gymnastics team wasn’t able to edge past St. Peter on Thursday night, falling 131.7000-121.000 in Marshall Middle School.
Cameen McFarquhar took first place all-around in the dual with an individual score of 34.9. She placed first in the floor and the vault, scoring 9.125 and 9.025 respectively, while also finishing as the runner-up on the bars at 8.55. Her 8.2 score on the beam also put her on the podium in third place.
Jocelyn Schlenner had a pair of runner-up finishes for the Tigers, taking second in the vault and floor. Her floor routine score came out to 8.85 and her vault score came in at 8.500. She also placed sixth on the beam at 7.3 to take sixth overall at 29.875.
Kendall Walerius took seventh overall at 26.825 behind a seventh-place finish on the beam at 7.0.
Autumn Deutz also placed fifth on the bars with a 7.6 score while Chioma Onyeaghala placed sixth in the vault at 8.05.
Marshall will head out on the road for its next competition, taking on Redwood Valley in Redwood Falls on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
