Kueny, Boe, Elder tie for first in Tracy
HLOF/WWG's Nathan Kueny won a tiebreaker to come out on top at the TMB quad meet

TRACY — High-end golf was on display for viewers of Tracy-Milroy-Balaton’s home invitational against Lakeview, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove and Windom Area Thursday afternoon. In a short field of 20 golfers, there was a three-way tie for first between Carson Boe, Nathan Kueny and Greyson Elder.
Lakeview’s Boe had a pair of birdies en rout to his 36 on the day while HLOF/WWG’s Kueny and Windom’s Elder each had one as they reached their even-par finish. Kueny won the handicap hole playoff to take the individual medal.
Sawyer Drent, the Red Rock Conference player of the year, had an off day by his standards but a good outing by most anyone else’s. He shot a 42 to tie Windom’s Carter Rossow and Landon Pillatzki for eighth.
Trailing shortly behind him, Brady Ross shot a 45 to place 11th and Ian Bumgardner and Mason Ommen tied for 12th with 47 strokes to round out the Coyotes’ team score at 170.
HLOF/WWG finished second, 13 strokes back of Windom and eight ahead of Lakeview.
TMB did not field a team score but Alex Munson had another good day on the links, shooting a 40 to place fifth in the meet. He didn’t have a birdie on the day but was slow and steady with just one hole more than
Lane Arends was Lakeview’s second scorer, shooting a 41 to tie for sixth with Windom’s Alex Cory. Jared Gregoire and Owen Louwagie were Lakeview’s third and fourth scorers, totaling 50 and 51 strokes to place 15th and 16th respectively.
Lakeview, TMB and HLOF/WWG will next compete at the 3A Section Tournament at Great Life Golf and Fitness on Wednesday at 8 a.m.
Lakeview, HLOF/WWG at TMB girls
TRACY — Taylor Munson finished as the runner-up at Tracy-Milroy-Balaton quad meet Thursday afternoon.
While the Panthers didn’t qualify for a team score, Munson’s 53 was still a moral victory for the team.
Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove won the team competition with a score of 239 while Windom finished second at 259. Lakeview also did not field a team score, though Caitlynn Hedman tied HLOF/WWG’s Irish Hollahan for fifth with a 60.
The Coyotes’ low score on the day came from Marenna Bang, who placed third with a 55 in the 10-player tournament.
Ava Herding and Kelli Renneke rounded out the HLOF/WWG scored with a 61 and 63 respectively to place seventh and eighth.
Windom’s Ada Lund won the tournament with a 46.
Lakeview, TMB and HLOF/WWG will next compete at the 3A Section Tournament at Great Life Golf and Fitness on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
