TMB cruises past Canby 11-1
TRACY — The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton baseball team showed up and showed out on both sides of the plate to cruise to an 11-1 home win over Canby Friday afternoon.
Trevor Smith starred on the mound for the Panthers again, pitching the full six innings with 10 strikeouts. He surrendered just one hit and three walks in the outing.
Canby’s lone run came in the third inning when Liam MacArthur hit a single to drive in Cash Anthony, tying the game at 1-1.
Alex Schuh was the only player in the game with an extra-base hit or multiple RBIs. He hit a three-run double in the fourth inning, scoring Noah Knakmuhs and Trevor Smith to put TMB up 5-1.
Knakmuhs scored the Panthers’ first run of the game in the first inning. After reaching base on a single, he advanced when Smith was hit by a pitch and scored when Schuh reached base on an error.
Ashton Squires reached base three times on the night with a single and two walks. He made the most of his opportunities, stealing a base and scoring twice.
Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (3-4) puts an end to a three-game losing streak with the win and will look to start a positive streak when they host MACCRAY at Milroy Baseball Field Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Canby (0-5) will try to get its first win of the season when it hosts Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg today at 4:30 p.m.
