ST.PETER ‚ The Marshall Tigers defeated the St.Peter Saints to be the 2AAA section champions advancing to the State tournament 61-45 on Friday evening.
Bri Simpson hit all nine of her free throws in the second half and the Tigers started the second half on an 11-3 run and would outscore the Saints 42-17.
The Tigers win the section championship for the second time in three years.
The Tigers also grabbed 12 offensive rebounds and held the Saints to two.
The Tigers will find their seeding this weekend and head to the twin cities as they play their first game on Wednesday.
