The Southwest Swim Club hosted their annual Beat the Blizzard Meet at the Don Palm Natatorium on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University on Feb. 4-5. The meet featured over 110 swimmers from six teams from South Dakota and Minnesota.

SSC had 25 athletes competing in 147 individual events. Of those events, SSC had 111 personal bests, 85 top-eight finishes, 10 event champions, and 36 S.D. State Qualifying times.

Event Champions were Emma Beavers (100 Free), Hailey Larsen (1000 Free), Alex Larson (50 Free and 400 IM), Kennadee McNett (25 Breast), Finley Pelz (200 Free, 500 Free, 50 Breast, 50 Fly), and Isabel Wingert (25 Free).

Athletes qualifying for the S.D. State Championships meet are Kennadee McNett, Logan Zahnow, Kiptyn Kesteloot, Finley Pelz, Alex Brown, Hailey Larsen, Elizabeth Coudron, Alex Larson, and Emma Beavers. The S.D. State A 12 and Under Championships will be held in Watertown, S.D. on Feb. 24-26 and the S.D. State A 13 and Over Championships will be held in Pierre, S.D. on March 3-5.
