JORDAN -- Salman Osman pulled off some late-game heroics to help the Tigers steal a 58-56 road win over Jordan to end the Tigers' three-game skid Tuesday night.
The game was tied at 56-56 in the final seconds, but Osman took the game into his own hands and knocked down a layup with five seconds left to put the Tigers on top. Jordan tried to respond with a 3-pointer for the win, but the shot was no good and the Tigers held on. Osman finished the game with 4 points, three rebounds, a steal and a block.
Andrew Elton led the Tigers in scoring with 10 points on 5-5 shooting from the field. Elton also finished with three rebounds, three assists and four steals on the defensive end.
Alex Franson stepped up to show off his talents as a distributor. He passed for seven assists and three turnovers in the game.
Omar Abdi had a lapse in efficiency, shooting 31% from the field, but finished second on the team in scoring with 8 points.
Marshall (9-14) will go on the road to face off against New Ulm for its next game Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
MLA-C 43, WWG 42
WESTBROOK -- The Westbrook-Walnut Grove boys basketball team was able to get everyone involved on the offensive end but was unable to knock down shots in crunch time against Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey Tuesday night, falling 43-42 in Westbrook.
WWG missed nine consecutive free throws before MLA-C knocked down a buzzer-beater 3-point shot for the win.
Hudson Jenniges led the Chargers in scoring with 11 points. WWG had six other scorers in the game, all of whom finished with between 4 and 6 points.
Adyn Vue and Kole Curry scored 6 points apiece, Elijah Merrick, Dan Kleven and Brady Ross scored 5 and Zach Knudson scored 4.
Westbrook-Walnut Grove (17-3) will host Lakeview (18-3) for its next game on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
MCC 45, RRC 41
LAMBERTON -- Tanner Graphenteen and Aiden Dierks scored 11 points apiece to lead the Murray County Central boys basketball team to a comeback win over Red Rock Central Tuesday night.
Red Rock Central led 15-11 at halftime and their lead ballooned to 29-14 with 12 minutes remaining before MCC got hot. The Rebels took their first lead since early in the game in the final minute of regulation.
Christian Tentinger had a big all-around game for MCC. He scored 9 points, grabbed a game-high eight rebounds, and logged a pair of steals and a blocked shot.
Isaac Simonson led the Falcons in scoring with a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double. Ashton Holmen scored 11 points on a trio of 3-pointers and Ashton Juhnke rounded out RRC's leading scorers with 9 points.
The game marks the Rebels' ninth straight win as they sit in first place in the Red Rock Conference.
Murray County Central (16-5) will host Adrian-Ellsworth on Friday at 6 p.m. and Red Rock Central (8-13) will host Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (7-15) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Lakeview 58, YME 45
GRANITE FALLS-- The Lakeview Lakers boys basketball team defeated the Yellow Medicine East Sting 58-45 on Tuesday evening.
Taiven Isaackson led the Lakers in scoring with 20 points and had five rebounds. Nathan Fenske had 8 points and 11 rebounds in the victory.
Ethan Schwankl had 11 points and five rebounds in the ballgame.
Bryce Sneller led the Sting in points with 14 and had a team-high seven rebounds. DJ Whitebuffalo scored 11 points and had five rebounds in the loss.
The Lakeview Lakers will be back in action on Thursday evening as they travel to Westbrook facing off against the Westbrook Walnut Grove Chargers and YME will be back in action next Monday evening traveling to Cottonwood playing against these Lakeview Lakers.
The first tip for both games is at 7:15 p.m.
DB 86, MACCRAY 50
DAWSON-- The Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks boys' basketball team dominated the MACCRAY Wolverines 86-50 on Tuesday evening.
Four Blackjacks scored in double figures with Brayson Boike having 22 points on 84% shooting. Boike also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. Drew Hjelmeland scored 18 points and have four assists. Keegon Wicht had 15 points and Carter Bowen had 16 points on 87% shooting in the victory.
The Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks will be back in action Saturday evening as they host Montevideo High School.
