Marshall falls 5-2 to SJA
ST. JAMES — The Marshall Tigers two-match win streak was snapped Thursday night in their 5-2 road loss to St. James Area.
Marshall’s top singles players did everything they could to put the Tigers in a position to win. Both Regan Loft and Taylor DePover won their matches in straight sets. Lost won 6-2, 6-4, while DePover came up clutch in a tiebreaker set to take home a 6-3, 5-7(4) win.
The doubles matches all came out in favor of the Saints. Taylor Miller and Cecily Aufenthie dropped their match 6-1, 6-3. Eliza Holmgren and Aubrey Schaefer came up short with scores of 6-3, 6-2 in their doubles math. In the third doubles match, Reese Graven and Reagan Boerboom suffered a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.
Naomia Schroeder lost in straight sets in the third singles match, both with a score of 6-2. Siri Christensen lost the fourth singles match 6-3, 6-1.
Following the match, the Marshall Tigers (6-9) will play their next match Friday afternoon, when they host the Montevideo Thunderhawks at 4:30 p.m.
