A pair of local hockey players played with the Metropolitan Team in the 12th annual Northland Hockey Selects tournament last weekend at the Super Rink in Blaine.

Forward Bryce Becker and defenseman Grace DeVries, defense, helped their 2010 team to a bronze medal during the three day tournament.

The Metros had a rough start, losing their first two games to the Pacific team and to the Atlantic team.

The team made up of kids from Minnesota, South Dakota, and Iowa, coached by Christian Becker, came together with wins on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning against the Centrals.

The Metros continue with summer league next weekend in Sioux Falls playing in the Combat Cup.
