JUNIOR LEGION BASEBALL: Marshall Black 17U wins pair of games to finish Alexandria tournament

ALEXANDRIA -- The Marshall Black 17U baseball team went 2-1 to finish the Alexandria tournament over the weekend, defeating Elk River 7-3 and falling to Aitkin 9-6 on Saturday before defeating Worthington 9-3 on Sunday.
Against Elk River, Collin Klenken led Marshall with three hits and three RBIs while Coby Brownlee added two hits and Braxton Koster, Drew Parsons and Karson Rowe each had a hit and an RBI. Parsons earned the win on the mound, going 5 1/3 innings while allowing three runs on five hits and struck out four.
Against Aitkin, Koster led Marshall with two hits and three RBIs while Rowe added a hit and an RBI and Klenken, Parsons and Carter Kepler each had a hit. Koster took the loss on the mound, going seven innings while allowing nine runs on nine hits and struck out three.
Against Worthington, Brownlee led Marshall with four hits and an RBI while Koster added two hits and three RBIs and Braeden Myhre had two hits and an RBI. AJ Haas earned the win on the mound, going four innings while allowing two runs on one hit and struck out three.
Marshall (11-5) will face Watertown (S.D.) on the road on Thursday in a doubleheader at 5 p.m.
