PREP GOLF: Marshall boys, girls finish regular season with dual victory against Pipestone Area

MARSHALL — In its final tune-up before the section meet, the Marshall boys and girls golf teams competed against Pipestone Area in a dual on Monday at Marshall Golf Club. On the boys side, Marshall Varsity took first with a team score of 167, followed by Pipestone Area Varsity in second (178), Marshall Junior Varsity in third (190) and Pipestone Area JV in fourth (202). On the girls side, Marshall Varsity took first with a 204 while Marshall JV took second with a 246 and Pipestone Area recorded an incomplete team score.

Boys

On the boys side, for Marshall Varsity, Jayden Manthei and Luke Ehlers led with a 41 each to tie for medalist honors while Evan Franson had a 42 to tie for third, Zach Kramer and Sam Schwarz each had a 43 to tie for fifth and Joey Fossum had a 46 to tie for 12th.

For Marshall JV, Jared Reinsma led with a 42 to tie for third while Noah Myhre and Mason Eickhoff each had a 43 to tie for fifth, Hudson Dieken and Jacob Johnson each had a 46 to tie for 12th and Owen Renslow had a 47 to tie for 15th. Edward Nubile, Klayton Weller, Tyler Welsh and Xander Antony each had a 48 to tie for 17th while Brenden Weller and Tucker Mauch each had a 50 to tie for 26th, Kadam Brinkman had a 51 to tie for 28th, Gavin Welsh and Nate Panka each had a 54 to tie for 30th, Nathan Lenz had a 55 to take 33rd, Brayden Louwagie, Jonah Vierstraete, Zach Kurth and Chase Mellenthin each had a 57 to tie for 34th, Logan Legatt had a 58 to take 39th, Logan Girard had a 59 to take 40th, Grady Meulebroeck had a 62 to take 42nd, Owen Wilts had a 66 to take 43rd and Jon Eben had a 72 to take 44th.

Girls

On the girls side, for Marshall Varsity, Brooklyn Gossen led with a 45 to earn medalist honors while Jaryn Hilgemann had a 51 to take second, Grace Ehlers had a 52 to take third, Dayton Webskowski had a 56 to take fifth, Eryn Kraft had a 60 to take eighth and Ali Pederson had a 72 to take 11th.

For Marshall JV, Rylee Jacobson led with a 54 to take fourth while Kaylee Prins had a 58 to take seventh, Kaitlyn Runia had a 65 to take ninth, Sophia Schwartz had a 69 to take 10th and Izzy Colvin had a 75 to take 12th.

The Marshall girls team will compete in Day 1 of the Section 3AA meet on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Oakdale Golf Club while the boys team will compete in Day 1 of its section meet on Thursday at 9 a.m.
