LUVERNE — The No. 5S Minneota/Canby softball team fell to No. 4S Windom Area 2-1 in the Section 3AA tournament on Tuesday.

Summer Hennen and Ashlee Ann Cole led Minneota/Canby with two hits each while Dakota Pesch added a hit and an RBI. Madison Hennen took the loss in the circle, going six innings while allowing two runs on eight hits and struck out one.

With the loss, Minneota/Canby’s season comes to an end with an overall record of 12-9.

LAMBERTON — The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton baseball team defeated Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove 9-7 on Tuesday.

Dylan Anderson led RTR with four hits while Jackson Christianson added three hits and three RBIs, Logan Lamote had three hits and an RBI and Hayden Gravley had three hits. Gravley earned the win on the mound, going five innings while allowing four runs on five hits and struck out eight.

Jake Jackson and Quintyn Vold led RRC/WWG with two hits each while Isaac Simonson added a hit and three RBIs. Dan Kleven took the loss on the mound, going 3 2/3 innings while allowing seven runs on nine hits.

RTR and RRC/WWG will start section play later this week.

GRANITE FALLS — The Yellow Medicine East baseball team fell to Redwood Valley 8-3 on Tuesday.

Nikson Knapper, Bryce Sneller and Nolan Hildahl led YME with a hit each while Nahum Tarin and Landon Anderson each recorded an RBI. Sneller earned the start, going four innings while allowing one run on one hit and struck out five. Jake Odegard took the loss in relief, allowing six runs on five hits.

YME will face Ortonville on the road on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Evan Engesmoe and Rylee Sigler led Canby with two hits and an RBI each while Liam MacArthur added two hits. Sawyer Drietz took the loss on the mound, going four innings while allowing 10 runs on seven hits and struck out one.
