STATE WRESTLING: Multiple area individuals earn medals to finish state meet

ST. PAUL -- Multiple area wrestlers finished their seasons at the Class A and AA individual tournament on Saturday at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, with several earning medals.
Class AA
Marshall
For Marshall, Dylan Louwagie (132 pounds) fell in the semifinal round to Princeton's Tyler Wells by major decision (12-4). Louwagie then defeated Mora's Nathan Nelson in an 8-3 decision to advance to the third-place match, where he defeated MAHACA's Ethan Lebrija by fall (3:30) to place third.
Tate Condezo (152 pounds) defeated Rocori's Austin Moscho in a 5-3 decision before defeating Thief River Falls' Griffin Lundeen by fall (3:34) to advance to the third-place match, where he defeated New Prague's Evan Farley by sudden victory (8-6) to place third.

For Dawson-Boyd/Lac qui Parle Valley/Montevideo United, Daniel Gunlogson (113 pounds) fell in the semifinal round to Simley's Brandon Morvari in a 4-2 decision. Gunlogson then defeated Big Lake's Cash Sixberry in a 1-0 decision to advance to the third-place match, where he defeated Albert Lea's Logan Davis in a 9-5 decision to place third.
Dain Mortenson (152 pounds) defeated Aitkin's Carson Kullhem by major decision (18-7), but fell to New Prague's Farley in a 5-3 decision to drop to the fifth-place match. Mortenson then fell to Thief River Falls' Lundeen in a 4-0 decision to place sixth.

Minneota
For Minneota, Peyton Gillund (120 pounds) fell to Crookston's Gavyn Hlucny in a 7-2 decision to close his state meet.
Zack Fier (145 pounds) defeated West Central Area-Ashby-Brandon-Evansville's Reubens Swanson in a 3-0 decision before defeating Kimball Area's Gavin Winter in a 3-2 decision to advance to the third-place match. He then fell to CH's Tucker Ginther in a 4-2 sudden victory to place fourth.
Jackson Esping (285 pounds) fell to LPGE-Browerville's Trey Lancaster in a 4-1 tiebreaker to close his state meet.

For TMB, Ayden Horner (132 pounds) defeated JCC's Logan Butzon in the semifinal round in a 4-3 decision to advance to the championship match where he fell to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's Walker Bents in a 5-3 decision to place second.
Devin Carter (120 pounds) defeated Holdingford's Masyn Patrick in the semifinal round in a 10-3 decision to advance to the championship match where he fell to JCC's Kie Anderson in a 3-2 decision to place second.
Caden Johnson (170 pounds) defeated Chatfield's Kail Schott in a 3-1 decision before defeating Badger-GB-MR's Ethan Waage in a 6-0 decision to advance to the third-place match, where he defeated Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted's Collin Boese by injury default to place third.
