PREP ATHLETICS: Big South announces All-Conference teams

MARSHALL — The Big South Conference announced its All-Conference teams for girls basketball and boys hockey on Tuesday and multiple Marshall athletes made the list.

Girls basketball

In the West Division, Ashleigh Steinbach and Bri Simpson made the All-Conference team for Marshall. Joining them are Sadie Voss and Maci Farmer (Jackson County Central), Olivia Hayenga and Ellie Weg (Worthington), Elizabeth Wagner and Brooklyn Ver Steeg (Luverne), Aubrea Kor (Pipestone Area) and KJ Huska (Windom Area).

On the Honorable Mention team, Leah Jones made it for Marshall. Joining her is Kira John and Christina Wagner (Luverne) and Brooklyn Scheitel-Taylor and Tarren Spartz (Worthington).

In the East Division, on the All-Conference team is Rayah Quiring, Cadee Becker and Maggy Totzke (Fairmont), Daviney Dreckman and Brooklyn Lewis (New Ulm), Taylor Sodeman and Madelyn Malmgren (St. James Area), Rhyan Holmgren and Annika Southworth (St. Peter) and Kloe Wadd (Waseca).

On the Honorable Mention team is Morgan Hulke (New Ulm), Josie Wiebusch and Lilly Ruffin (St. Peter), Samantha Azure (Waseca) and Madeline Schiltz (Blue Earth Area).

Boys hockey

On the All-Conference team, Talan Plante and Jared Reinsma made it for Marshall. Joining them are Eli Anderson (Fairmont), Brock Behrend and Patrick Kroski (Luverne), Jack Albrecht, Braxten Hoffmann and Dawson Sellner (New Ulm), Kyle Ahlschlager and Griffen Krautkremer (Waseca), Brady Espenson and Zach Espenson (Windom Area) and Alec Langerud (Worthington).

On the Honorable Mention team, Braxton Meyer made it for Marshall. Joining him is Brock Lutterman (Fairmont), Tyler Arends and Owen Sudenga (Luverne), Josh Gulden and Austin Uecker (New Ulm) and Konner Honius (Worthington).
