MARSHALL — The Southwest Minnesota State University Athletics Department is pleased to announce a corporate partnership with Schwan’s Company. Through the partnership, Schwan’s Company will support SMSU student-athlete scholarships and youth programming.

“We have a proud history of promoting education and athletics at the youth and collegiate level, as well as supporting exceptional efforts to provide important services that advance stronger, healthier communities,” said Mike Smith, vice president of public relations and communication for Schwan’s Company. “We are excited to have the opportunity to support the SMSU athletic program and make a difference with student athletes and across campus.”

SMSU and Schwan’s Company, two organizations from Marshall, have partnered on many projects and programs through the years. This most recent partnership includes a donation of $150,000 from Schwan’s Company in support of scholarships and youth programming. Schwan’s Company brands such as Red Baron® pizza and Bibigo® foods will also have a strong presence on campus through campus dining, concessions and other culinary initiatives.

“We want to thank Schwan’s Company for their commitment and contribution to SMSU and Mustang Athletics that will further advance scholarship opportunities for our students,” said Devin Gorter, SMSU associate athletic director for external affairs. “With the local connection, we couldn’t be more excited to partner with Schwan’s Company, which is a respected industry leader. We look forward to providing their quality food options to our fans and students throughout campus.”
