PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall girls basketball takes out Waconia 83-74 to start season

WACONIA — The Marshall girls basketball team defeated Waconia 83-74 to open the season on Friday.

Ashleigh Steinbach led Marshall with 26 points while Lexie Bednarek added 25 and Leah Jones had eight. Steinbach, Bednarek and Jones led in rebounds with five each while Steinbach led in assists with four.

Marshall (1-0) will face St. Peter today in New Ulm in the Big South Conference Cross-Over at 4:30 p.m.

Keegon Wicht led DB with 18 points while Brayson Boike added 16 and Levi Olson had 13. Aiden Swenson led in rebounds with 11 while Boike added seven and Wicht and Braxton Hahn led in assists with three each.

DB (1-0) will face Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on the road on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
