SMSU SWIMMING AND DIVING: SMSU sets three school records at day one of Augustana Invite

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s swimming & diving team opened the three-day Augustana Invite on Thursday setting a pair of school records in relays, while MacKenzie Kallevig set a program record in the 50-yard freestyle.

SMSU’s 200-yard medley relay team of Juliana Villa, Annika Freiburger, Natalie Bohnert and Kallevig placed 19th out of 38 teams with a school best time of 1:51.56.

The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Bohnert, Villa, Quincie Klein and Kallevig also set a program best time of 8:03.74 to earn a 16th place finish out of 26 teams.

Kallevig set a team record during the prelims of the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.69, breaking her own time of 24.76 set two seasons ago.

Day two of the invite continues today at 9:30 a.m. inside the Midco Aquatic Center.
