MARSHALL -- Concordia-St. Paul scored a pair of goals in 10 minutes midway through the second half to take a 2-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's soccer on Friday night at the Schwan Regional Event Center.

CSP, which improves to 8-6-2 overall, 7-4-2 NSIC, snapped the tie in the 78th minute as Ciara Bailey netted a shot from deep that bounced just out of the reach of Julianne Arballo to score the final goal.

SMSU, which dropped its seventh one-goal loss of the season, falls to 4-10-1 overall, 3-9-1 NSIC.

CSP closed the game with 10 shots, including three on goal, while SMSU had two shots, both of which ended up on net.

After a scoreless first period, SMSU opened the scoring in the 61th minute as Kirsten Wetterstrom buried her third goal of the season off a pass by Kylee Bennett that just cleared through the defense to the foot of Wetterstrom.

SMSU held the 1-0 lead for nearly seven minutes, as Sophie Pawlyshyn netted the equalizer off a corner that would cause a scramble in front of the net before finding its way into the back of the net.

Bailey's goal would cap the scoring, giving CSP their fourth one-goal victory of the season.

Arballo would finish the game with a save after facing three shots.

Southwest Minnesota State continues the weekend on the road taking on Minnesota State on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. at The Pitch in Mankato against Minnesota State.
